Following my pharmaceutical studies, I started my career in Belgium, in a subsidiary of HOECHST ROUSSEL, more than 30 years ago. I was able to participate in the creation of one of the first generic medicines companies in France, Laboratoire QUALIMED, which was then operating exclusively on the hospital market.In 1996, I decided to contribute to the promotion of generic medicines in France by taking part to the creation, with a small team of coworkers, of a specialized laboratory: BIOGARAN.In parallel, I co-founded the GEMME (Generics Same Medicines) association in 2002 to discuss generics collectively, to reassure people about their effectiveness and to propose a satisfying model for all, in the service of patients. President for 9 years, I am now very involved as President of the Economic Affairs Committee, I support structuring projects focusing on the future of generics medicines’ economic model.Today, I am also actively involved in the discussions around biosimilar medicines, because I am convinced that, as with generics, it is through the development of biosimilars that we will be able to offer more and more therapeutic alternatives to patients, while establishing an economic model that respects the French healthcare system. My deepest convictions lead me to defend quality medicine that is accessible to all.
