About Pascal De Boer

I am an experienced business leader in the IT B2B and Consumer Electronics industries. I have worked in many different geographies (EMEA, USA and Asia) in functions that allowed me to develop a large set of skills in a vast amount of business areas (sales, marketing, finance, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain). I started from the ground up in Sales & Marketing with a strong focus on establishing distribution channels and developing businesses in Europe, Middle-East & Africa. I then moved to pan-EMEA and Global business management roles. I have focused on integration of acquisitions, restructuring of activities and the development of new businesses.Currently I am leading the transformation of Western Digital's $5B consumer business into an integrated Customer Experience focused organization. My strengths are in leading large cross-functional teams in multi-cultural environments. I easily stretch from strategic thinking to concrete action. My unconventional thinking, drive and people skills have fueled my career development thus far.I am fluent in french, English, Dutch and German.Specialties: Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Leadership skills, Global experience

  • Imation Europe B.V.
    Director, Consumer Electronics Business Emea
    Imation Europe B.V. Jan 2009 - Jun 2010
    Seoul, Kr
Appointed by the CEO of Imation Corp. (USA) on a short term assignment to build the foundations of Imation’s Consumer Electronics business in EMEA. The objective of the assignment was to define and start implementation of the long term development plan of this new retail business venture for Imation emanating from the acquisitions of Memorex, TDK and XtremeMac.The objective was to quickly ramp-up profitable revenue while redefining new business processes, new supply chain and retail distribution channels while maximizing synergies with the existing Imation businesses. For this project I put a small focussed cross-functional team of experts in place. We developed an audio and accessories product range and roadmap for 3 complementary positioned brands, established sourcing and supply chain processes as well as the distribution channel for successful launches. We leveraged existing relationships with the leading retailers in EMEA (Carrefour, Auchan, DSG, Tesco, MSH...etc) while setting up a strong network of specialized distributors. The project successfully ends in Q1 2010 with a profitable model at higher than planned market shares and the integration of this new business venture with the existing Retail Division of Imation Europe b.v.In addition to this role I am responsible for all Imation Europe’s packaging design & engineering as well as marketing communications team (8 people reporting).Member of Imation Europe’s Executive Committee.
Member of Imation’s CEO Forum.
Reporting to the VP Europe.

We re-defined our go-to-market model, re-designed our distribution channels, allowing us to maximize our market coverage while minimizing operational costs. We managed to expand Imation’s leadership position, profitably gain market share in the highly competitive B2B storage media industry. In this period Imation Corp. made 3 major acquisitions - Memorex Corp. (USA), TDK Media (Japan) and XtremeMac (USA). I was core member of the steering committee managing the preparation and integration of these acquisitions as Sales and Marketing lead.

    Seoul, Kr
After my assignment in the USA I returned to Europe to re-structure Imation’s Benelux and NL-based Export (Scandinavia, East and South-East Europe) B2C and B2B activities. Revenue ($80m) was stagnating and selling costs were out of proportion. Under my leadership, through team realignment, tight distribution management and cost cutting measures the team (20 Sales & Marketing people) returned to strong growth (22%), doubled GM% and showed sustainable strong share gains within the first year.Member of Imation Europe’s Executive Committee.
Reporting to the VP Europe.
  • Imation Europe B.V.

In this role I lead a cross-functional business team composed of R&D, manufacturing (3 factories), sourcing, sales & marketing, finance and supply chain. The assignment ended Dec 2004 with a successful and sustainable return to growth and profitability. The main driver of the turn around was my ability to gain broad support for the turn-around plan of restructuring manufacturing facilities, switch to 3rd party manufacturing partnerships and flawless execution of the plan.Imation Global Top Performer Award 2004 for the successful turn-around of Imation’s network Storage Tape business.Reporting to the Global Executive Director, Storage Solutions (USA)
