Project Engineer
CurrentAs a technical lead and project engineer, I initiated, developed and coordinated various complex F/A-18 fighter jet structural modification programs for several military customers. My responsibilities covered a wide range of aspects such as helping the customer defining his real requirements, perform detailed technical review of the engineering analyses, define means of certification and lead the engineering team through all phases of the engineering product development. The major projects that I managed in recent years covered a Center Barrel Replacement (CBR) program which is the most extensive structural modification and dismantling effort on the F/A-18 in which the aircraft is split in 3 parts to remove and replace the most critical and sollicited structural members. All this by maintaining the A/C perfectly aligned under few thousand's of an inch.I also developed and managed an alternate to this CBR modification program in which local robotic shot peening retrofits were designed along with the generation of an extensive coupon test program that supported the certification of these new fatigue enhancement techniques. Finally I had the opportunity to demonstrate engineering versatility and agility while being the technical lead for an important Avionics Upgrade program even though my background is in structural engineering not avionics. I successfully lead this program from the early modification development phase to the end of the Validation installation with great feed-back from the customer which obviously contributed to the contract awarded to L3 MAS for the manufacturing of the Production phase modification kits for the fleet.
