Started work in 1998 at Siemens-Atea in Herentals. Over the course of time, the company changed names several times to end up today as Nokia Belgium. 2016 saw the company move to the former Alcatel-Lucent site in Antwerp close to the central station, following the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent by Nokia.Since then I've had several roles within several departments. Started work at the Service Center tasked with writing and defining repair procedures for the Siemens-Atea telecom products (SDH, OTN) as well as 3rd party products (Xeikon). In addition I was in charge of making spare part calculations.After a couple of years I moved to the Fixed networks Network Engineering department for the dimensioning of the Siemens EWSD telephony centrals based on customer requirements. This for several European customers but mostly for our Export market in Middle East Africa. This included several business trips for site survey purposes to such locations as Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Morocco and Egypt.After having trained a regional successor, I moved on to the Site Engineering department where I was tasked with dimensioning of the site materials for mobile sites including cabling, mounting materials and power. Since 2007 I moved to the Energy solutions department where I took on the role to dimension energy solutions for mobile broadband sites. Currently I'm part of the Mobile Networks Deploy Services AEM Energy Solutions team. Specific tasks include the development and maintenance of an extensive excel based tool for the configuration and ordering of Nokia global energy solutions for 2/3/4/5G sites as well as product management tasks for one of our energy solution suppliers. I also maintain our Energy Solutions sharepoint page.In my spare time I'm a volunteer at the Gunfire museum in Brasschaat Belgium where I am part of a team who restores and maintains military vehicles for the War Heritage Institute. At the moment I'm part of a small team who's restoring a WW2 era British Churchill MkIV tank.
