Reasearch career :PhD from Paris Pierre et Marie-Curie University. Post-doc at the Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta GA, in 1987, then 3 years as head of the malaria diagnostic reference center for USA, and Research Associate on anti-malaria vaccine projects. Head of the Parasitology Research laboratory at the Medical Research Center of Franceville, Gabon (CIRMF).Student Director and Advisor for Masters and Thesis in Public Health in low / limited income countries.Author and co-author of 129 peer reviewed publications. Pharmaceutical R&D: Project Leader for anti-malaria drug development at Piere Fabre Laboratories. At the Bordeaux University – hospital: Establishment of a Technology Transfer Unit in 1999 – 2002, then continuation in Drug development with pharmaceutical industry, as Associate Professor – Hospital Biologist since 2001. Creation of a drug development unit organized around laboratories form the faculty of Pharmacy, specialized in drug formulation to be used under tropical conditions. Success in developing an anti-malaria drug, ASAQ, today manufactured by SANOFI and registered as priority drug in 24 malaria endemic countries.Experience in establishing and conducting clinical trials (malaria) in low income countries. University Training : European coordination of an Erasmus Mundus Master of International Health, resgistered to the Troped European Network (www.troped.org ), including 3 year as President of the network.Public relations and administration: Attached to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2011 to 2015, International Technical Expert and Advisor for the Rector of the Medical University of health Science, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.Retired in September 2020, I remain Research Associate at the Laboratory for Industrial Technology, Bordeaux Unviersity (LTPIB), and a member of the Diagnostics Technical Advisory Group (DTAG) established by WHO as the collaborative mechanism to drive progress towards of the goals and targets set out in the WHO Roadmap for the control and elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases 2021-2030.
