• Responsibility for the centralized IT services of WHO headquarters• As core member of the IT Project (under the chairmanship of JW Lee, late DG of WHO), designed the global IT strategy of WHO.• Information support to the Tobacco Free Initiative (TFI). Participated as WHO representative in the CDC/WHO/UICC planning meeting in Atlanta (1999), the aim of which was the worldwide coordination of information activities related to tobacco control.

• Development of an integrated system for the data management and analysis of clinical trials for the assessment of birth control methods. Life table analysis, log-rank method, analysis of truncated time series, integration with statistical packages such as SPSS, SAS and BMDP. Active member of the multidisciplinary team in charge of the planning, execution, monitoring and analysis of clinical trials and other studies (multi-centered, multi-national follow-up studies)• Strengthening of the institutes of research in family planning in China. Elaboration of a project for the creation of biomedical computing departments in the research institutes in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing and Tianjin, which was completely and successfully implemented.
