Pascale Thomas is a skilled securities attorney with 15 years of experience serving as a strategic partner and trusted adviser to investment professionals, providing a solutions-driven, business-focused approach to handling complex legal, compliance and risk management matters.As Deputy General Counsel of Ariel Investments and Chief Compliance Officer of Ariel Alternatives, Pascale advises on legal, compliance and risk matters for all Ariel entities and leads the compliance program of Ariel Alternatives. Prior to Ariel, she served as the Deputy General Counsel and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of Makena Capital Management. Previously, she was a Managing Director and Assistant General Counsel at Z Capital Group. She began her career as an attorney in Sidley Austin’s Investment Products & Derivatives Group.Beyond Ariel, she is a member of the Contemporary Support Council of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and an active supporter of Duke University’s Nasher Museum of Art. She graduated with a BS in psychology from Duke University and a JD from Harvard Law School.
