I am an award-winning cinematographer and work in commercials, online content, narrative films, documentaries and corporate shoots. Documentary FilmmakerUniversity Of Cape Town 2005 - 2010Cape TownI worked as a documentary filmmaker at Centre for Popular Memory (part of the University of Cape Town's History Department). I researched, directed, shot and edited short social history documentaries about historically marginalized people living and working on the streets of Cape Town.Some of the themes covered were the 1976 Soweto uprisings, forced removals from Harfield Village and how three main roads in Cape Town link the city from its wealthy centre, to the poorer outskirts and how they served as both literal and social conduits during the removals and uprisings.Several of these documentary short screened at both local and international film festivals.
