As a Software Product Manger for Dell’s Enterprise Systems division, Pascal managed the strategy and roadmap for various systems management consoles and utilities that were distributed in-the-box with every server sold by Dell. These tools included the Dell Management Console, the largest systems management project ever done at Dell, with anticipated upsell revenue of over $80M per year for value added plugins. Pascal's daily activities included gathering customer requirements (via surveys, focus groups, beta programs), conducting competitive analysis, presented business cases to executive management for approval, writing Marketing Requirements Documents used by the engineering team for implementation, participating in new product launches including website development, marketing collateral and press releases, evangelizing new products at events and tradeshows, and assisting Sales teams with demos and customer presentations that resulted in a higher frequency of closed deals.

During his 5 years in software engineering, Pascal participated in and later supervised a team of 12 programmers developing software that deployed, configured, monitored, diagnosed, and updated Dell storage systems. Pascal established processes that increased product quality metrics from 14% to 72%, coordinated offshore software development with Dell India, and redefined Dell’s strategy for diagnosing tape systems (resulting in $6M warranty cost reduction). Under Pascal's supervision, the team successfully released 26 software products on schedule.
