Particularly interested in innovative design techniques and software team organization, I am looking forward to grow strong technical software teams along successful, challenging projects. After a year in a startup in West Canada (Vancouver), I got in 2000 to Paris for a 1.5 year long experience on server-side (C++, CORBA). After 6 months maintaining an old and fragile system, I spent a year redesigning a complete module with three freelance consultants. We developed successfully with extremely few defects, using a powerful methodology named eXtreme Programming. I then moved from 2002 to end 2006 on client-side ; the programming language was Java/Swing/J2EE and XML, and it was built on top of a wide range of tools and libraries such as JBoss, Apache, Install4J, Velocity, HTTPUnit, YGuard, UISpec4J.... This project particularly benefited from the XP flexibility, since the application organically grew into the reference tool for network provisioning in Nortel.I then went freelance on january 2007, and coached a team of 8 at BNP Paribas for an app managing the legal deals and contracts of the bank. The project relied on a few frameworks such as Hibernate, Lucene, Webwork or FIT. My time there was exciting and challenging with half the team in India, and international users. From february 2010 to september 2011, I helped Multimedia Business Services to grow the Orange public VOD platform (Java 7, Hibernate, ). We learned a lot with the team I led (10 devs, 4 ops), and pushed/refactored a heavy legacy system to insert many new services.Since october 2011, I now live in Toulouse, working first for LivingObjects and then LiveAction. building from scratch a Network PErformance Management product now sold to many Service Providers around the world.Specialties: Technical Software Coach and Lead Agile methodologies (XP) and Lean

Product And Engineering ManagerLiveaction - Network Performance Management Oct 2017 - PresentToulouse, FranceLeading a team of 15 in Toulouse in the great adventure of building and growing a Software Product from scratch to heavenLiveSP was born at Toulouse in 2015. Our customers are Network Service Providers (several big names with us already, including a few Tier-1 SPs): we provide them with a flexible portal that they sell as a SAAS service to all their enterprise customers (between 2000 and 3000 by the end of year 2020).This product collects & reports on WAN and SD-WAN Network Performance Statistics (Netflow, SNMP, HTTP APIs...), from 100K+ routers in parallel. Its main characteristics:* horizontally scalable* multi-tenant* generic architecture (KPIs, Dashboard, Alarming...), extended with vendor-specific plugins (Cisco, OneAccess, Fortinet, Nokia...)Technically, the project is built with:* Angular 11 front-end* Java back-end (reactive programmation, REST APIs) * 3 databases : Neo4J, MySQL, et Cassandra-inspired TimeSeries DB optimized for our queries* Docker Swarm for orchestration of services* A rich set of tools: Jenkins, Artifactory, Terraform, ELK, Go, Ansible… Our work methodology : although largely inspired by Agile & Lean (I have been a humble practitioner and proponent of them since 2001 for Agile, and 2008 for Lean), we don't label them at ever turn, and focus instead solely on improving quality and maximizing the product value every day on the Gemba. My goals: * an excellent product that maximizes value to our customers (Telco companies)* happy individuals in my team, growing their skills and professional expertise,* cohesive and united team, capable of tackling difficult challenges* productive collaboration with customers (tailored customization suited to each Service Provider development strategies) and technical partners (router and SD-WAN solution vendors) -
Product ManagerLivingobjects Oct 2011 - Nov 2017Toulouse, FranceFor 6 years in Toulouse, in a small company created by a former SFR regional director.I was first called to take lead and organize development and maintenance for 3 different projects for SFR.Inp parallel, right from the beginning, I also began creating from scratch with a couple developers and a Network doctor (and in partnership with Cisco) an awesome product called EyeLO, for the Service Providers to provide value-added reporting on their customer Network Performance. This product got bought by an american competitor (LiveAction) in 2017, and I joined them all with my team for a new adventure. -
Agile CoachOrange Business Services - Online Multimedia Feb 2010 - Aug 2011I've been coaching a 10 persons-team working on the video portal for mobiles of an important telco (over 1M unique visitors monthly).I'm driving through this project a series of experimentations following Lean precepts, aiming at boosting the team abilities to better and faster meet customer expectations. The conditions are pretty harsh (important turnover in former years, big amount of legacy code with some technical debts up to 8-years-old, and old rivalry between people of complementary skills) but a good part of the team benefits from a solid experience with XP in other projects, which allows us to gradually develop a Lean thinking without breaking the Agile spirit, values and principles. -
Agile CoachBnp Paribas Jan 2007 - Feb 2010We develop a Web application for managing the legal data covering the deals of the bank. The project relies on a few frameworks such as Hibernate, Lucene, Spring and FIT.The project is exciting and challenging, since we have to cope with half the team in India, and still deliver strong quality to demanding users. My mission is to help the team embrace the XP methodology, and continue to develop a technical vision for the project. -
