To do this, I rely on my 20+ years of research, analysis, project management, and staff mentoring experience. I have an extensive background solving business problems and conducting quantitative and qualitative market research in the technology and energy sectors, including clean energy technologies and the smart grid. I am a systems thinker, who connects the dots. With a Ph.D. in systems ecology, I see the proverbial forest, the individual trees, and the myriad interconnections that weave them together. This perspective enables me to evaluate and filter the essential data and research details that lead to high level insights and impact business outcomes.I have directed and contributed to market research activities for Fortune 500 companies, investor-owned utilities, municipal agencies, and nonprofit organizations. I am most passionate about opportunities to better understand (and then reduce) the impacts of humans and organizations on the biosphere through the promotion and adoption of innovative, clean technologies, efficient business processes, and changes in human behavior. In addition to directing projects and managing teams, I have helped organizations better manage their IT and telecommunications-related infrastructures, guiding them through software and hardware deployments, transitions to cloud computing and unified communications, and managing the evolving challenges of data and information security.As a speaker and presenter, I have conducted numerous presentations for clients as well as for organizations such as the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative (SGCC), the International Energy Program Evaluation Conference (IEPEC), the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), and the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP).
