About Thomas Pasquier

The most important thing for me in my work is to take care of the relationships with the people I collaborate with. This involves regular, clear, and supportive communication. I strive to do this even remotely, since 2015, when I started working from my coworking places.I have been working on R&D in Computer Vision and algorithm implementation for 15+ years. This has naturally led me to implement Deep Learning algorithms. A few years ago, I began working on the implementation of these algorithms in the cloud, which has sparked new passions in me: TDD, DevOps, and MLOps.My goal is to keep developing Data Scientist and MLOps skills.Here is a summary of my experiences :• DevOps and MLOps: Implementation of Computer Vision algorithm in the Cloud (AWS and GCP).• Machine Learning: Deep learning - CNN, Image/Object recognition, image segmentation.• Project Management: Installation of a 4D modeling platform (3D reconstruction over time and motion capture platform : https://kinovis.inria.fr/ ).• Hardware: Camera sensors and lenses, depth cameras, motion capture.• Computer vision : Markerless object tracking, 3D reconstruction (photogrammetry and SLAM), face Detection, segmentation.• You mix it up a little : 3D rendering, Augmented reality.And here are the programming languages I have worked with extensively : • Python• C++

    My mission is to develop and adapt computer vision algorithms, to implement distributed rendering and encoding service on AWS Lambda, and make them available through an API on AWS.This API that I'm developing is responsible for executing semantic segmentation algorithms to detect children's drawings. It also performs real-time cartoon (that integrates the detected drawings) rendering and encoding, distributed across multiple AWS Lambdas to ensure low-latency video streaming to the user.

    I worked within the Morpheo team at INRIA in Grenoble, which was specialized in 3D reconstruction, on the installation and exploitation of the Kinovis platform (http://kinovis.inrialpes.fr/). Kinovis is a research project comprising two studios:- One at INRIA Grenoble, which is a temporal 3D reconstruction (4D) studio allowing for markerless motion capture. It covers 100 m² and is equipped with 64 color cameras, as well as a 'traditional' motion capture system using markers.- The other is at Grenoble University Hospital (CHU), operating on the same principle but with only about ten color cameras and two C-Arms (live X-ray imaging devices). The goal is to establish a link between the internal and external surfaces of the body.My responsibilities during this installation project were as follows:- Technical consultant on the construction site: I attended site meetings to guide the design and oversee the construction process.- Defining requirements and specifying equipment in collaboration with the various research teams involved in the project.- Implementing a Python-based viewer for sequences captured by the Kinovis platform http://kinovis.inrialpes.fr/lucyviewer/).
