Founded in 2015, Pass It Forward is a community movement composed of philanthropists, charitable institutions, multinational corporations, social workers, and individual angels who believe in the power of giving, receiving, and giving back to others.Every time a requestor’s wish is granted through Pass It Forward, he is inspired to pass goodwill on to another, whether it is by way of a tree-planting activity or a free cooking class. The vision of a cycle of continuous giving underscores the existence of Pass It Forward, and the deep belief that no one is helpless and everybody has something to share.After years of humanitarian work in the Philippines, Shmuel Weiss stood face to face with a glaring problem: nothing much was changing. No matter how often you help and give, the poor remain needy, and their situation does not change for the better. The process of give and take had been going on for years, and yet the problem remains the same.Everybody has something to give, whether it is a skill, talent, or a hand to hold. What if, instead of just giving and taking, a third step of giving back according to one’s own abilities is added?That is when Pass It Forward took shape.Today more and more individuals, organizations, and charitable institutions are joining the Pass It Forward movement, belonging to different sectors but one in the belief that everybody is a conduit for betterment and change.
