As the Senior Pastor of Scottsdale Bible Church, I have the two great joys of preaching each week to our wonderful congregations and of leading our talented, hard-working staff. Pursuing our mission to be a community of Christ-followers marked by unwavering faith and unconditional love, we welcome several thousand people into environments where they can get God through transformational Bible teaching and engaging worship, get real by being part of an authentic community, and get out there by sharing the love of Jesus through serving others. We’ve seen God at work through SBC, giving us a global missions footprint, with a particular heart for seeing a Gospel resurgence in Western Europe. We have witnessed God bless our emphasis on grace, evidenced in hundreds of people annually demonstrating their faith in public baptisms and countless stories over the years of life change, relational restoration, and victory over sin and adversity.Over the past couple years, I’ve enjoyed the new challenge diving into the world of writing for publication. My first book, How Joyful People Think by Pastor Jamie Rasmussen was released July 31, 2018, published by Baker Books. My second book, When God Feels Far Away, 8 Ways to Navigate Divine Distance was released in October 2022. I do my best to lead authentically and transparently, and I understand that the leadership I offer others is really just an outflow of my own relationship with Jesus. I’m a work in progress, just like all of you. I’m fortunate to be the husband to Kim and Dad to Abby, Hannah, and Paul. Outside of SBC and taking part of preaching, teaching, and leadership opportunities beyond the church, I am home body who cherishes time with my wife and close friends and a long-suffering fan of the Cleveland Browns who hopes for the best but has come to expect much less than that.
