Dr. Button is an experienced professional with more than 30 years’ experience in the health care industry. Throughout her career, Dr. Button’s passion has been improving the safety, quality, and efficiency of patient care. Her knowledge, skills and experience include clinical practice, education, quality improvement, clinical informatics, clinical decision support, population health management, as well as product and project management. In addition, she has frequently served as a clinical subject matter expert in the product development, sales, implementation and client relationship arenas.Leveraging the combination of these skills, she has held product and operational management and senior leadership positions in a variety of educational, for profit and not for profit organizations. Her understanding of the key characteristics of effective leadership and the complexities of change management combined with the critical need for systematic project planning, team work, and partnerships within and across organizations has been the basis for her effectiveness in diverse roles. Dr. Button has thrived in fast paced, creative environments and projects.She has particular depth of knowledge of the critical success factors of effective systems development and implementation, as well as experience in managing large, complex projects. She has led diverse teams in the development and implementation of creative, effective, and profitable software, clinical decision support, evidence-based practice, and population health management projects.Her excellent communication and interpersonal skills have been a consistent component of her effectiveness in product, project, leadership and consulting roles.Dr. Button is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.Dr. Button has held various consulting positions outside of the health care industry and enjoyed a “sabbatical” when she owned and ran The Heart of the Village Inn in Shelburne, Vermont.
