Handle large-exposure Directors and Officers claims against entities and Directors/Officers. Insureds are the largest financial lines insureds within AIG including multi-nationals. -Negotiated settlements in "bet the company" stockholder class actions involving multi-billion dollar potential exposures.-Oversee $500m+ Merger Objection claims from claim inception to completion. Claims include Crisis/PR coverage as the mergers are large news-worthy financial transactions.-Defense of DOJ and SEC criminal investigations of individual Directors and Officers relating to fraud, conspiracy, and breach of loyalty.-Claims handled also include Qui Tam, False Claims Act, 10 (b) (5), coverage litigation, and reinsurance disputes. -Review and analyze insurance coverage issues to make coverage determinations.-Use of data analytics tools including Stanford Securities Litigation Analytics system.

· Handle all types of claims on international policies, including products liability, property damage, contractual claims, terrorism and murder, rape, police brutality, class actions and coverage actions.· Identified unrecognized coverage defenses in multiple death cases, saving the company over $2M.· Saved the company $2.4M plus defense costs in a large property damage action by expert analysis of policy interpretation of South African policy.· Prevented the company from a $1B exposure by identifying and asserting coverage defenses on an action where these defenses were not recognized.· Analyze and interpret policies based on international jurisdictions as well as United States law; policy types include Difference in Conditions, primary, excess, foreign and domestic issued policies.· Initiated a training program with senior management to utilize game theory and behavioral economics to improve the department’s negotiating acumen, and taught the seminar to acclaim from senior management.

Successfully negotiated a settlement of 16% of sought coverage on a $1.02B asbestos claim, saving tens of millions of dollars.· Handled complex claims dealing with non-products asbestos exposures and declaratory judgment actions, developing expertise in these cutting-edge coverage issues, and became recognized as the asbestos coverage expert by my peers.· Obtained five consecutive defense verdicts on asbestos trials in Los Angeles by developing an algorithm for claim evaluation, saving the company at least $10m and earning a Meritorious Bonus Award.· Saved the company over $1M by recognizing a potentially unlimited insurance obligation and negotiating an interim agreement to defend against a “target-tender” approach in a complex, non-products account.· Testified as Chartis' main fact witness in a reinsurance arbitration that resulted in a $3M recovery of disputed reinsurance. Knowing every aspect of the account fully and completely, and being able to proactively consider the Chartis' bottom line and the important business issues, as well as legal issues, was the driving force behind the testimony and the excellent result.· Account list consisted of high profile matters involving nine-and ten-figure exposures, complex bankruptcy proceedings and negotiation of complex settlements in high profile cases some of which were publicized in trade publications. · Analyzed complex insurance policy interpretation issues and coverage issues involving allocation across multiple policies, trigger, continuous exposure, operations versus products limits and related issues. The policy analysis included the latest, most cutting edge issues in non-products asbestos law such as completed operations aggregates and the number of occurrences in multi-site litigation. · Managed and led many department wide projects at the request of senior management

· Handled complex claims, which included all types of chemical exposure and pharmaceutical cases. · Managed multi-state litigations and class actions.
