Spectra Energy is a participant of this association and in conjunction with my employment at Spectra, I have served as a resource for the Emergency Response Assistance Canada (ERAC) plan. Specifically, I have acted as a Remedial Measures Advisor since 1992 (first with ERAC predecessor organizations such as the LPG Assistance Corporation and then the LPG Emergency Response Corporation). This role is activated in the event of a transportation emergency to respond on scene and provide LPG technical assistance to the Incident Commander, to safely remediate the incident. I have also acted in the capacity of Response Team Leader, for Spectra Energy's LPG Response Team based at Taylor BC, in the event that they are also activated in the event of a transportation emergency. This role provides oversight of product transferring, flaring and purging types of activities at the emergency scene. Since 1992, I have responded to just over 50 incidents involving either truck or rail transportation. In addition, I have represented Spectra Energy as a member of the ERAC Operating Committee since 1995. -
