I have been in the Manufacturers Rep business for over 30 years in the Kansas City area selling and marketing Home Improvement products to the Construction Industry, and Home Center/Hardware Retailers. Our rep agency, SBH & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1962. I joined the business in 1990 and took over ownership of the agency in 2001 along with my partner Wayne Schmidt. As a rep I have had the opportunity to call on everyone from the largest retailers in the world, to engineers who might specify our products, down to the contractor who uses the product in the field. As one of the leading rep groups in our territory we have been fortunate to represent some of the best names in the industry. Many of our lines have been with our agency for over 20+ years. In 2011 I entered in to the Energy Efficiency Business by joining my brother-in-law, Tom Ries in his business INNOVATIVE FACILITIES SOLUTIONS. IFS is in the business of helping commercial property owners save serious money by reducing their energy usage by recommending and implementing energy saving measures such as LED lighting.I currently live in the KC area and have been here since 1990 (From St Louis area originally).Specialties: I have over 25 years of experience in sales and marketing of both consumer and professional construction/home improvement products. I have called on a wide variety of consumer and professional markets from Home Depot and Wal-Mart down to the single contractor who is the lifeblood to any new product entering the market.I am continually growing my knowledge base on LED LIGHTING by attending the annual light fair as well as various other industry meetings and conferences. My goal is to be the best educated in the latest technology so I can pass this on to my clients to insure they are making the best long-term decisions to reduce energy usage and maintenance expenses.
