As founder and CEO of Advanced Operations Limited (AOL) I get to do my favourite job everyday.With over 35 years experience in senior executive roles I have earned the scars and gained the insights into how business operations are built from the ground up and as success comes, how they need to carefully prepare themselves for growth and build their capability to adapt to an ever changing environment. At AOL we work primarily with emerging companies. We will sometimes take on an executive/supporting role to help you deal with those early stage challenges. In a nut shell, we bring in the "business discipline early" without compromising your entrepreneurial flair.I graduated from University College Dublin in 1985 as a Chemical Engineer and worked in the engineering services and pharmaceutical operations environment in Ireland and the Caribbean for the next 10 years. In 1996 three colleagues and I acquired a small Engineering Design firm (DPS Engineering) in Ireland and over the next 20 years grew it from 20 to 2,000 people strong with operations all over the world servicing the global Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Micro-Electronics sectors.

Activities included PFD and P&ID design, Process equipment design and specifications, Process design calculation files, on site surveys , on site start up , commissioning and production activities. Most of the work was carried out on Pharmaceutical projects for companies such as Scheering Plough, Pfizer, Smithkline, Novartis and Syntex pharmaceuticals.
