General Manager
Printprocol is part of a group of Companies which I managed. Under my umbrella I was managing, Printprocol, Wei and Ming Pty Ltd, Colour Perfect and for a brief period Sungent Packaging. All three businesses were struggling due to the loss of a key employee that abruptly left and during this time I was approached by the Owner with regards to the role. They needed someone who was well rounded in Print, had good business acumen and could not only lead the team but also grow the business and organise it. I was fortunate to have been recommended and took on the role. Within 2-3 months of joining the company our sales had increased by 40% and year to date we have had continued growth of 9-12% per month. Part of the growth is attributed to building and implementing a Web to Print solution using Accura, which is a cost-based quoting system, with CRM functionality and more. I took great pleasure in researching what would be the best solution for our business in order for it to be flexible as we grow and not be a short term solution. It has been one of my greatest achievements in my career, starting and completing this project. As for my duties of General Manager, I have been handling a turn-over of 1.8-2.2, running a small team of 4, handling everything from Stock Management, Quoting, Sales, Invoicing, Bookkeeping, everything a hands-on business owner would be doing. My role is very rewarding and diverse, which has helped me to continue my professional growth.I have also had the privilege of Managing our largest client Qantas (and Jetstar) from processing all enquiries, quoting and producing their products, as well as some product sourcing, and managing all deliverables. I have thrived in this role and been able to adapt as needed, using my skills to successful change and grow the business unfortunately due to the Coronavirus my role was terminated at the discretion of the Owner.
Graphic Designer And Printer
I joined Tony Wolf as a casual and was quickly made Full Time due to my skill set and professionalism. Fitting in well within the small team and making my mark quickly. I was relied upon up, and worked independently, managing all internal and external print, as well as all graphic design/prepress. As this is a small family business every team member counts and as I am able to pick things up quickly I was able to take over accounts receivable from the owners to free them up to be able to work on the business rather than in the business.
Print Project Manager And Digital Printer
As the name of role indicates I am a specialist in Print Production, working from concept through to completion. I take others ideas and make them real. Working closely with the Marketing and Studio teams I project manage from brief to delivery. Liaising with both Domestic and International suppliers, shipping and freight, managing warehousing, picking and packing, POS and packaging, mailing and distribution. My role also has me managing our house clients that only require print and promotional products.Since joining Icon Visual Marketing, I have had the privilege of developing new systems for how print is handled, sourcing new suppliers and getting the best price for our quality products, developing a print pricing structure that is competitive and technically advising our Studio/Graphics team. I have also added brought prepress to Icon Visual Marketing as this was something that was lacking, this has drastically improved the quality of our print. I help to handle our Direct Selling clients and print all of the personalised stationery, and other printed collateral, as an on demand service.
Production Manager
The role of Production Manager became available, and the production staff requested to the Director that I am appointed as the new Production Manager as they believed I had the skills and drive to make positive changes. I happily took on this role, having earned the respect of my peers I was able to take a team that had low morale and build a cohesive well-working team. One of my greatest achievements whilst working with TDC has been to develop a strong workflow from receiving a job, to getting artwork and continuing through production. I had also redesigned the layout of the production area, which increased the production capacity, and efficiency allowing the business to take on more work, and deliver to our customers in a timelier and professional manner. This included sourcing new equipment and suppliers which helped save time and money.
Account Manager
I joined The Digital Centre as an Internal Account Manager where I took charge of this role and was helping to build sales; it was within the first few weeks of working at TDC the Director could see that I had great skill. I was soon working on our pricing/quoting structure, and changing the way Sales, Prepress and the Production team communicated. My duties included but were not limited to; Processing all quotes for the other sales staff, liaising with outside suppliers (briefing and organising quotes), maintaining the filing, invoicing jobs and working with the Production Manager to ensure jobs could be completed on time and budget.
Production Manager
In my role as Production Manager I coordinate staff, prioritise jobs, take new briefs and work with our design department to deliver products on time, managing client database, and quoting/Invoicing.In order to maintain deadlines we have regular production meetings, and communicate with our clients on a regular basis to ensure the job is completed to a high standard. As the face of our branch, I greet clients, receive jobs, assist in briefing the Graphic Department and work with them on all projects. I liase with our “Blue Chip” clients, amongst these are Caltex and Commonwealth Bank. Both of which I project manage. For Caltex, I organise their training materials across Australia. With CBA I have developed a working relationship and now design and create animations that are for internal campaigns and training. My role has lead me into marketing for the store, running both print and email campaigns. I have also networked with small businesses in the local area, running joint promotions, resulting in increased sales. Tight deadlines have meant, I have learnt new skills to assist the business such as bindery.
Graphic Designer
In this position I was working with clients to develop print material, from catalogues, letterheads, brochures, as well as websites, and other media. Checking all print ready files corresponded to print standards, and other pre-press duties. Customer Service, and answering calls. Advising customers on stocks, and print methods, that were within budget or cost effective for their business. This position was excellent for a student come designer, and the role was in a relaxed environment.
