I (Katie) started working from home making Bamboo Prefolds (cloth diapers), branching out to nursing pads and anything else I had an itch to sew. I still make nursing pads, but found my love outside of making diapers. We started making our G Tube pads when approached by a customer for a custom product for her daughter Emily. She had seen my nursing pads and came to me, asking me to make her some G Tube pads.What she wasn't expecting is that John had a daughter who lived her life with a G Tube (and all the issues that came with it) so he knew exactly what my customer needed. He and I, with the help of my wonderful customer, designed our G Tube pads and we all fell in love immediately.Of course, being a Tubie parent himself, John instantly became passionate about these pads. It also became an instant passion of mine after hearing how much the pads were helping people. Once we heard what sweet little Emily thought of our pads, we decided this was what we needed to be doing. We love to be able to help and we strive to meet the special needs of children, adolescents, and adults the best we can. These pads are inspired by the courageous fight by John's sweet daughter, Corrina Lozoya. Corrina went through lots of testing until finally being diagnosed with a rare case of Interstitial Lung Disease, or, chILD for short. She touched many lives in her short life and her story continues to give encouragement and inspiration. We are donating a portion of our proceeds from the sale of our G-tube pads to a non-profit organization. For 2012, this special organization is the Feeding Tube Awareness Foundation.
