While my employment history has been in retail, my academic interests, extracurricular activities, and hobbies are centered on film and entertainment. As a double major in film studies and entertainment and media studies, I get to see the medium from a scholarly and academic point of view as well as a practical and industry-oriented perspective. My time as discussion leader in the University of Georgia's Film Club and my experience as Managing Editor of UGA's film blog Scrawls on Cinema have helped me apply academic and practical understandings of film to casual discussions and exciting articles about the medium. My experience in public speaking from four years of competitive public forum debate in high school and two years in the Phi Kappa Literary Society at UGA have made me a strong orator and communicator. My public speaking skills and interest in film help me communicate my love of and interest in the medium to casual viewers and dedicated film fans alike.
