Each month my kitchen becomes a mini-lab as I test gadgets cooks may find useful. What makes a good vegetable peeler? If you want to make ravioli, which ravioli maker works best? Read my column, Gadget a Go Go.Features, both online and print, make up another part of my work at Feast. I enjoy the storytelling aspect of features and the in-depth coverage. Writing for the Feast blog, the Feed, challenges me to stretch my writing and bend it into a web style. Plus, I've honed my photo skills in the process.

Every other Wednesday my pieces appear in the What's Cooking column of the Let's Eat section. I interview local good cooks who share their stories and recipes with the readers.

Describing Eby-Paidrick Designs isn't the easiest task. Ann Paidrick and I have worked together for thirty plus years. During that time we created banners, flags, stage sets, costumes, props, signs--whew! We worked with ad agencies, theme parks, architects and theater folks for many years before turning to computers in 2000. Since then, we've provide written and visual communications through graphic design and illustration.

Each month I covered the market for fresh, seasonal and local food available in the St. Louis area. Farmers, market managers, chefs, ranchers and local food experts provide me with great stories and recipes. The learning curve was fast and steep, but the work was fun and the people I met were terrific.
