Member of International Taxation Committee, Indirect Tax Committee, Internal Audit Committee and Technology Initiatives Committee of Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society which has, as of July, 2019, almost 9,000 members from across India.

Its an honour to chair one of the most active and respected committees of the Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society - the Taxation Committee. This committee conducts numerous programs, brings out publications and makes representations to the Finance Ministry. Its a privilege to be working on the committee with some of the biggest names in the field of Taxation in India.This year, we hope to make it a "Taxciting" year for our stakeholders.

Its an honour to become the co-chairman of one of the most active and respected committees of the Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society - the Taxation Committee. This committee conducts numerous programs, brings out publications and makes representations to the Finance Ministry. Its a privilege to be working on the committee with some of the biggest names in the field of Taxation in India.

I am back as chairman of this wonderful committee of BCAS. The 4i in the name of the committee stands for "Imagiinative Ideas and Innovative Initiatives". The mandate for the committee is to think out of the box and come up with innovation - for the Society, for the members, for the students. Ideas and suggestions from my friends are most welcome.

The Indian subsidiary of State Bank of Mauritius has been set up recently and I have joined the Board as an independent director

More than 28 years of experience in handling various aspects of taxation - both individual and corporate. Have handled tax return preparation & filing, representation and litigation, transfer pricing, salary structuring, certification, tax audits, international taxation etc. Currently, I am focusing on taxation of financial services and in that process, I deal with banks, mutual funds, FIIs, QFIs, FVCIs etc. I also advise NRIs on FEMA and taxation.

I am a Past President of Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society (known as BCAS) and was the Chairman of its Infotech & 4i Committee. 4i stands for Imaginative Ideas and Innovative Initiatives for 3 years.

The Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society is a voluntary body of CAs with more than 9,000 members from across India. It carries out a number of activities in terms of seminars, conferences, study circles, workshops etc. and it also brings out a monthly journal which is read by more than 12,000 subscribers.

I started practicing as a Chartered Accountant immediately after qualifying in 1986. I was on my own for the first few years. Many of the clients who signed up with me at that time continue their association with me till date.

The 3 year period of articleship in one of the best CA firms of my time gave me the base for becoming a good CA. I learnt a lot during my articleship. In those days, a CA firm gave all round experience to the articled students unlike today when most firms have water tight compartments. I did tax work and audits. In those days, there were no computers - only typewriters. So, we had to do most of the work manually. That made us more careful.
