Co-head of the engineering group with a focus on directly leading the infrastructure and data engineering teams. As an engineering leader, my main responsibilities are recruiting, building an innovative engineering culture, empowering engineers to build and own great products, and mentoring team members. Other responsibilities include managing the reliability and scalability of our infrastructure, the availability and performance of our data platform, collaborating with other engineering and business leaders to create and maintain our product roadmaps. Our Data Engineering team was responsible for building and supporting a data platform built on top of Airflow, Spark on EMR, Redshift, Kinesis, and Kafka using both Python and Scala. Our Infra team built out a reliable and scalable infrastructure using Terraform, Puppet, and Packer. Using these tools they managed an infrastructure that included EC2, Kinesis, SQS, S3, VPCs, RDS, Redshift, API Gateway, and Kubernetes. In addition to leadership duties, I was also responsible for building the financial reporting services to share data with our investors and partners.

Directly managed software developers and team of IT consultants to build software and create and maintain a scalable infrastructure.- Facilitated communication of projects from design and implementation through deployment and support of informatics tools that enabled members of High Throughput Screening, DNA cloning, Protein Purification, and Assay Development to perform research more efficiently.- Designed and implemented a proprietary web-based protease registration system allowing the research organization to capture DNA/amino acid sequences and protein lots.- Implemented web-applications to capture information describing the phage display platform including library creation, panning, and high throughput screening. Tools were built using a Java, jQuery, Bootstrap, BioJava tech stack.
