Android app for farmersThere is a huge amount of data in today's world of agriculture that can help farmers make more informed decisions about when to plant, fertilize, and irrigate. By combining nationwide soil data, satellite imagery updated every few days, and user-input data, this app saves farmers money and increases their crop yield, allowing smaller operations to compete more evenly with the massive ones.PingPong+We took a wide variety of disparate technologies and connected them to enhance the classic game of ping pong. Arduino touch sensors to keep score; Phillips Hue lights and a wi-fi enabled fog machine to create an exciting, themed atmosphere; a Microsoft Kinect to track the ball across the table; and on top of it all, cue-controlled spotlights to go along with an Alexa-narrated rundown of all the technology.

Autonomous and telepresence robots in the treatment of highly-infectious diseases.Healthcare-associated infections are fatal and costly in both the developing and developed worlds. By using robotic assistants, we can reduce exposure of healthcare workers to infectious diseases, saving lives and funds. Using Python and Robot Operating System (ROS), I designed a method for determining the optimal path an autonomous, mobile robot should take to disinfect a treatment area by shining germicidal UV radiation to kill infectious particles.

Added functionality to chemical concentration-testing iOS application.The sanitation industry requires all kinds of chemical testing using small indicator strips, but readings are often errant as a result of human error. I helped develop an iOS app that takes a picture of a test strip and calculates the exact concentration based on color guides provided, reducing the chance of error.Developed Android architecture for Contect concussion-testing application.Athletes often get hit hard in a game and have to come off to have their head checked, but concussion tests on the sideline are not the most reliable. I worked on an Android version of an app that listens to an athlete's voice and, using speech pathology, compares it to a baseline to determine if the athlete is concussed.

Web-based instant messenger with audio, video, and screen-sharing capabilities.Radiologists who work in hospitals often need to acquire second opinions from other doctors across the building, which can be inconvenient and slow. If radiologists could communicate with other specialists directly from their workstations, they could spend more time reviewing scans and images, and less time trying to get in touch with other, busy doctors. With this in mind, I designed a web-based instant messaging and screen-sharing client that can integrate into a radiologist's work station and make it simple to get a specialist's opinion.
