As a senior manager for platforms and IT services I am responsible for:- hardware specifications for our products- hardware and software integration - including writing the necessary software- hardware validation and testing for new product series (manual and automated testing)- hardware build procedures implementation and interaction with our partners building our hardware- organizational and people management of the DevOps department- organizational and people management of the IT Services department- technical consulting and helping the two departments mentioned above

Defining my current position at Syneto is difficult. My managers calls me "Jolly Joker" because I can and I do a lot of things whenever and wherever needed. My responsibilities include:- Architecture Work- R&D in Software Development - implement prototypes for our new features- R&D in DevOps - Kubernetes, Pulumi, gRPC, Istio, MicroServices, Prometheus, Grafana, AlertManager- R&D in hardware - Define and implement compatibility of our software with the ever evolving hardware landscape- Software Development - Mainly Python, some Bash, JSonnet/Libsonet, occasionally NodeJS/TS and other languages as needed- Help, support, and consulting for other colleagues

My responsibilities started to shift toward architecture, especially defining micro service components, interactions, and tools. I am still doing development, of course :)

I am specialize in middleware backend.- I work frequently outside of middleware, toward operating system. This implies illumos based OS, ZFS filesystem related commands, system services, and other configuration utilities for networking, the system itself, etc. These operating system related tasks frequently require good knowledge of bash scripting, korn shell, shell utilities (cat, grep, awk, etc), some Python and Perl.- Occasionally I work a little toward the UI as well. These works require efficiency in MVC web frameworks, CSS, HTML, templating engines, and a little JavaScript.- On the infrastructure side I have several years of experience with CI (TeamCity) and VMware infrastructures.

In my free time I work for FeedXL as a DevOps Engineer & software developer.
