Dr. Mock had over 36 years of professional experience as a wildlife biologist and environmental consultant. He served as principal investigator for studies of endangered wildlife, directing and participating in field investigations, data analysis, and preparation and review of technical reports and mitigation plans. Dr. Mock had extensive national and international experience in the assessment of impacts on biological resources, especially in relation to wetland ecosystems, coastal sage scrub, and endangered species. Dr. Mock produced environmental impact assessments of various development projects throughout the western US and the Pacific Rim in conformance with CEQA, NEPA, CWA, and ESA. His specific area of expertise was in the ecology, management, and monitoring of vertebrate populations. Dr. Mock was a Certified Wildlife Biologist®, a Certified Senior Ecologist, and a Certified Project Manager. Dr. Mock had fifteen publications in peer-reviewed science journals related to wildlife ecology, ornithology, and habitat conservation topics. Dr. Mock was a Principal Biologist within a large group of biologists that implements large-scale (100 to 10,000+ acre sites) biological assessment projects for government agencies and private clients. Past projects included airport expansions, dam retrofits, conventional power plants, renewable energy (wind, geothermal, solar), military planning programs (BRAC, INRMP, homeporting), linear utility installations, federal and regional habitat conservation plans (BLM, ACOE, NCCP, local HCP), recreational parks/open space and trails, mine expansions, road & highway expansions, hospitals, schools, residential, and commercial projects.
