Network Architect
CurrentGeneva Trading is a global proprietary derivatives trading firm headquartered in Chicago with offices in New York, London, and Dublin.I am responsible for planning, design, implementation, and operation of the global trading network and co-location facilities. My responsibilities include:- Plan and hands-on configure networking technologies that support buy-side and sell-side trading strategies on multiple proprietary and commercial trading platforms (including HFT, algo, and "click" trading)- Design and implement global WAN and data centers/colos, inluding wireless WAN technologies (microwave, millimeter wave)- Design and implement network connectivity between trading systems and exchanges/liquidity pools- Manage network firewalls and VPN gateways- Member of the senior IT management team and report directly to CIO/CTO- Direct management of a small team of networking personnel in U.S. and Europe- Configuration and management of trade latency reporting system- Responsible for global networking budget and vendor relationships- Research, assess, and and test emerging networking technologiesCurrent Technical Areas of Expertise- Financial exchange connectivity including multicast networking- Hands on experience with major networking vendors such as Cisco, Arista, and Juniper- Ultra low latency networking including latency measurement and reporting systems such as Corvil- Network security including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and VPN- Voice over IP including Asterisk PBX
