Supported process engineers by running experiments, gathering and analyzing data, and writing Java and Python programs to automate tasks. Conducted a range of experiments, including filter studies using different vendor mediums and ion exchange loading DoE's. Additionally, during the Covid-19 shutdown, created, led, and managed the manufacturing of hand sanitizer. Conducted extensive research on the cost of raw materials, legal requirements, and community needs. Led the procurement team in purchasing the correct FDA-approved raw materials and worked with the legal team to ensure the correct FDA manufacturing license was obtained. Solely responsible for the manufacturing of hand sanitizer, working after hours to minimize the chance of cross-contamination. Also led the customer outreach team in reaching out to local businesses and donating free hand sanitizer. Worked with other employees to hand out the sanitizer to interested businesses.

Chemist lead on diverse projects and chemistries including silicon and metal hardmasks, BARC materials, gap fill and planarization materials. Responsible for rapidly scaling up and optimizing these chemistries to deliver the highest quality materials to customers. Operated and maintained multiple jacketed reactors, ranging from 1L to 10L, to focus on scaling up R&D processes and generating customer samples. Also performed general maintenance tasks, such as oil changing, calibration, and preventative maintenance, to ensure optimal operation of these reactor systems. Conducted purification DoE's and clean room applications testing to analyze and optimize scale-up progress. Additionally, was part of multiple product work teams that successfully troubleshooted and diversified products to meet customer needs.

As a Lab Assistant Intern, I gained expertise in laboratory testing, synthesis, and purification. I conducted a wide range of tests, including thermal analysis, stripping, decomposition, solvent compatibility, optical constants, and rheology, among others. I would perform material purification using different methods including distillation and ion exchange. I also developed and optimized processes for all stages of the R&D process including, process optimization, purification and sample manufacturing. Furthermore, I was responsible for sample preparation for customer requests.
