As an investigative intern with the special litigation division with the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, I conduct research tailored to each client about reentry planning, childhood psychological development, and conditions while incarcerated. In addition to research, I conduct interviews with witnesses, handle records requests from all major entities in our client's life, and coordinate letters of support.

As an oral history intern, I conducted extensive research on people close to Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Women in the Liberation Movement, and the role of Black Theology in anti-apartheid efforts. During my time, I conducted multiple formal oral history interviews that have been entered into the official Desmond and Leah Tutu archival materials.

I first joined the Southern Oral History program through their structured course and internship program where you develop an understanding of Oral Histories and begin conducting oral histories in a structured environment. I have continued to work with the program on a contracted basis, completing oral histories for them. The Oral Histories are largely about the experiences of Black and Indigenous staff and students at UNC Chapel Hill across the university's history.

As a research intern I conducted research on the differences between abolitionist movements and restorative justice in the Netherlands. I also assisted in developing a series of resources and forming a curriculum for a working group in the European Union working to redesign the European Prison Rules.

The Campus Y is a non-for-profit organization that operates as the hub for social justice on UNCChapel Hill's campus. As Co-president, I helped with the non-profit management, the operation of 30+ student organizations doing community engagement and activism work, and act as a liaison between students and university administration to ensure that one of the largest organizations on campus has its needs met.

As Director of finances I managed finances for over 30 subcommittees housed in UNC’s Campus Y. I applied for grants on behalf of the organization, helped manage the organization’s endowment andhelped sustain the Campus Y’s non-profit financial status.

As a program intern with the Greater Justice New York branch at Vera Institute of Justice, I wrote conducted research on various pressing policy topics in New York. These topics ranged from the Closing Rikers movement, to the implications of good-time credits for incarcerated people. In this role, I wrote numerous policy briefs, helped with conferences, and wrote internal memos that were used as talking points for members of the vera staff.
