After more than 13 years as a journalist for a Pulitzer-winning daily newspaper, I made the leap to Marketing and Communications for the nation's largest Graduate Medical Education Safety-Net Consortium, right here in Scranton, in service of a great mission: improving the health and welfare of our local community through nondiscriminatory primary care, and supporting the training of tomorrow's doctors today at a growing network of federally qualified community health centers. For the last two years, I have worked remotely for Nashville-based Lovell Communications Inc., an HMA Company, where I get to put my years of experience as an award-winning communicator to work in an agency setting serving health care clients big and small across the United States. I work on public and media relations, crisis and change management, internal and external communications strategy and execution, plus project management and mentoring junior colleagues. I'm passionate about serving the needs of health care clients and key stakeholders through effective storytelling, clear communication and engaging marketing that empowers them. At the start of my career, forging connections in my local community and leveraging the great resources of the region were my specialties. Now, I get to put these skills into practice in communities all over America.
