Housed in the Office of Teacher Education within the University Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), as part of NYC's Young Men's Initiative, (YMI), NYC Men Teach is a cross-agency enterprise between CUNY, the Mayor's office and the NYC Department of Education (DOE). This collaborative initiative is committed to improving educational, employment and justice outcomes for young Black and Latino men. The result is a teacher recruitment program at CUNY which primarily targets, but is not exclusive to, Black, Latino and Asian male students at multiple campuses with the goal of recruiting 600 teacher education students into the program by June 2018.Responsibilities Included:- Centrally managed all program components and deliverables related to both teacher education and P-12 education, and overseeing affiliated campus-based activities at sixteen participating colleges. - Served as the primary consultant to the 15 campus-based program managers/directors- Designed culturally-responsive, gender/race sensitivity programming for staff and aspiring teachers - Created and disseminated communications for internal and external audiences - Served as a University liaison to NYC program partners at the Mayors' Office and NYC DOE- Convened and led partnership meetings and conference calls between many senior level staff members and administrators at CUNY, YMI and the DOE- Oversaw project budgets-Compiled, analyzed and reported data on program progress

Served as Special Education Specialist for 6th through 8th grades and consultant teacher to fellow staff members.Served as Principal's Grade Team Cabinet member.
