Assist Litigation and Corporate Risk division team to carry out its responsibilities as a Skilled Person pursuant to the Financial Conduct Authority in reviewing the sale of banking interest rate hedging products by a major financial institution. Key responsibilities include assessing claims for damages due to the claimed mis-sale of these products to small and medium sized businesses.

• Managed U.S. east coast and mid-west toxic tort litigation for U.S. government contractor with broad range of claims, including allegations in connection with military and commercial vessels, products and premises. • Counseled on variety of strategic issues, including government contractor defenses, corporate successor and subsidiary liability, employee claims, the impact of national defense related statutes and regulations on discovery, venue and removal, litigation expectations in various jurisdictions at the state and federal court level, and the application of maritime law. • Conducted depositions. Formulated and drafted motions and discovery responses, independently and in coordination with local and appellate counsel. • Coordinated defense experts to adequately set forth medical, scientific and government contractor defenses for trial; and prepared corporate and expert witnesses for deposition. • Communicated with clients and insurers during all phases of litigation; provided recommendations regarding the extent of potential exposures and liabilities, available defenses and resolution strategies, assessments of trial risks and posture for settlement.• Ancillary practice included management and participation in of all aspects of litigation for a client base comprised of insurers, premises owners, contractors, product manufacturers, product distributors, ship owners, trusts and corporate entities in cases that center on product, premises, mining and corporate successor liabilities.
