Responsible for the overall supervision and implementation of Transportation Services. Provides staff training, technical support and assistance to Transportation Services staff. Supervision, monitoring and performance feed-back to drivers. Establish, implement, maintain and evaluate a process for ensuring that all vehicles are operated in a safe and efficient manner and that staff is trained in the process. Responsible for the creation of primary and emergency transportation routes prior to the start of the program year designed to maximize safety, especially pick-up and drop-off locations; safe parking, waiting or turn-around areas and unrestricted streets; any route revisions during the year and for staff training on transportation routes. Maintain and evaluate a process for ensuring the safety of the children at all times during transport and transition on and off the bus, and that staff is trained in the process, Ensure all required personal certifications, documentation etc are current and valid. Complete all necessary personal paperwork, i.e. time sheets, requests for vacations etc. Minimum yearly performance evaluations and other evaluations as needed. Ensure compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards, federal, state and local transportation and vehicle rules and regulations.
