DFE Out of School Settings Pilot Project. Safeguarding training not currently obligatory in out of school settings in Law in England. Pilot project facilitating free safeguarding training and explaining why it is so important in the community. Two person team: myself and the Project Manager.Researched out of school settings in the Borough and outside Brent that could be interested in safeguarding training. Contacting by telephone and email for Head of Out of School Setting's details; setting up and maintaining a database.Composing/proofreading training leaflets with Project Manager. Producing regular online information advertising training events, follow-up telephone contact with members on database. Liaising with a range of internal and external contacts and organisations within the wider diverse community. Monitored all incoming mail and actioned. Monitored and maintained all online information.Setting up meetings and training events on Safeguarding in Out of School Settings. Expanded with free fire safety training, having made contacts in the community, very organic.Booked training venues, compiled and facilitated attendance registers and arranged catering. Meeting and greeting face to face and on the telephone was a large part of the role. Ability to make people feel comfortable, most of whom are volunteers.Serviced all meetings. Maintain a high level of record keeping on project plan and database in accordance with procedures and ensure that these are available to management. Ensure high standards of project delivery.Contract ended due to Covid.
