Currently share a joint appointment where I serve as Director of the Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI) in the Chancellor’s office and as Associate Dean for Outreach and Recruiting in the College of Engineering. As Director, I help lead system-wide strategic initiatives to expand public-private partnerships in areas of institutional expertise. As Associate Dean, I continue to provide leadership and direction for external relations, engineering outreach programs, and recruitment within the College of Engineering at New Mexico State University. Under the auspices of the Office of Outreach and Recruitment, I provide oversight for College-wide professional development/short-course/certificate programs, engineering outreach services to business and industry, and STEM K-12 experiential learning programs. My background includes over 39 years experience developing external and corporate relations to expand collaborative partnerships in education, research and outreach within the various engineering disciplines with programmatic focus on expanding career opportunities for current and prospective engineering students.Personal experience in higher education, public policy, innovation and entrepreneurship, corporate/business partnerships and collaborations, and STEM outreach programming for K-16.
