Responsibilities include working with the coding and revenue departments during implementation of our Emergency Department EMR (electronic medical record). Working as an integral part of the team is essential for a successful outcome. From the initial visit at the client site, to go live, I work closely to integrate the client charge master, and train pertinent staff on all operations related to coding and billing. Certified Professional Coder in charge of auditing and education for nineteen practitioners at four clinics - Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Women's Health, and Orthopedics. Also responsible for training all relevant employees in ICD-10.

Emergency Department Coding Specialist, to work on-site at Central Washington Hospital. I was responsible for coding all ED charts, as well as training the ED physicians and nurses on proper documentation practices.

In 1996, Ballard Ambulance hired my as an Emergency Medical Technician, which was the launching pad for my 12 year career as a coding specialist.
