Visual Arts Instructor
CurrentTaught 6 sections of Art 1-3; Collaborated with Art Seminar and AP Art Instructor, experience as Administrative Dean, Administrator of Fine Arts Department website, National Art Honor Society sponsor. Extensive use of blended learning using a LMS and a PLE, gave training in professional portfolio management, accommodated special needs, multiple intelligence and brain-based strategies integration. One of the most important skills in my position is to provide engaging, media rich content that allows students to learn by discovery and to build research tools that they may apply in all facets of their lives, present and future. My flexible but organized teaching style encourages the learner to become personally invested by making choices in the route to achieve a common solution. I use technology as a way to connect with students' preferences, previous knowledge, and interests. I am responsible for technological presentations and collaborative lesson plan building. Some of my experience includes the use of document projecting, video editing, animation, digital photography including editing, media asset creation, tablet usage, video conferencing, Web 2.0 tools and resources, web design, graphic design, and whiteboard interactivity. This is my third year to be used as an example for my organization of SCORE, the county website that is similar to Blackboard in that students can access organized postings, announcements, presentations, documents, and calendar events from all of their classes. This year we are also using it to post all of our lesson plans and professional portfolios. I was also asked to be the administrator for the Fine Arts department on our school's website. This experience has given me a better understanding of editing a web page, adding images and links, and formatting text. I am a well rounded, involved, and enthusiastic teacher with great potential for instruction in various fields and age groups.
