Dr. Patricia Y. Jones Blessman is a retired licensed clinical psychologist with over thirty years of experience as a clinician, consultant and administrator of mental health programs. Her vocational experience encompasses a diverse array of clinical settings; public and private, profit and not-for-profit as well as academic institutions. The integrating theme throughout her varied work experience has been the consistent focus on access to and development of culturally appropriate social services, educational and mental health services. Although now retired, Dr. Jones Blessman maintains a limited creative advisor practice. She provides expertise in program development, implementation, and evaluation to social services agencies serving ethnically and culturally diverse populations. She provides a premium, concierge based consultation service to high achieving clients concerning their organizational, professional or personal goals. Her philanthropic advocacy includes serving as Board President of A Boy and His Dream, Board Vice President of HelloBaby Board member for CodePink, Advisory Board/Investor Blacks in Green, Advisory Board and Investor to Pigment International, and Advisory Board/Investor to Destiny Outreach. Dr. Jones Blessman, with her husband Stephen Blessman are members of Social Venture Network, a diverse community of business leaders and entrepreneurs who can effect positive social change through business. They are also sustaining members of the Environmental Law and Policy Center. Their combined business interests and portfolio focus is also on socially responsible investing. While screening their family stock portfolio for companies that do good socially while doing well financially, the Blessmans’ strive to obtain the triple bottom line results of financial success, social responsibility and environmental sustainability through carefully picking private equity investments. Dr. Jones Blessman also served as an associate producer for the film Carbon Nation, a climate change solutions film which details what people are already doing, what we as nation could be doing and what the world needs to do to stave off climate change by moving to a low carbon economy.Dr. Jones Blessman received her baccalaureate degree from Northwestern University’s School of Education with a major in Human Development and Social Policy. She earned her doctorate degree in clinical and developmental psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
