In 2017, I brought in head new business development efforts and expand the company’s footprint into LATAM, with accountability for P&L, Operations, Sales Strategy, Private and Government Bids, and Stakeholder Management. Within less than 12 months, I had successfully laid the foundation for future growth for a burgeoning VC-backed Smart Grid technology company that had struggled to gain traction in this region for over 4 years prior – with efforts resulting in the successful consideration by utilities and regulators in the next tariff rate procedures.

While at AES Corporation (a Fortune 200 energy organization), my role progressed and evolved significantly over the years. Initially joining as Legal Director, I was promoted within the year to head up the company’s Compliance efforts ad serve as Regional Counsel and Regional Compliance Officer.Fast forward to 2012, AES Argentina was in crisis, and I was promoted to lead the company during a time of immense market volatility, with accountability for USD$70.5MM P&L and an 800+- employee/contractor company.Within 3+ short years, I led AES Argentina to become the most reliable operator in the country during the years of 2013 and 2014, and exceeding 2014 budget by +18.5%. During this time, I led the company through Argentina’s economic downturn, which heavily harmed businesses and other nearby revenue-generating regions (Brazil and Chile) for AES Argentina. Board Appointments held: ➤President of the Board, AES Argentina and Country Manager of its subsidiaries in the country ➤President of the Board, Termoelectrica Manuel Belgrano; a corporation owned by all the main power companies in Argentina and the Federal Government, which operates a Combined Cycle of 830MW➤President of the Board, Termoelectrica Guillermo Brown; a 600MW project between AES and the Government of Argentina

Within 1 year of joining AES, I was promoted to head Legal and Regulatory affairs and the Compliance department, where I led project finance and debt restructuring for AES Parana and successfully adapted AES global compliance programs to the regional culture and needs.During this time, through personally led negotiations, I was able to resolve regulatory limitations set by the Argentinean Government, which had impacted top-line performance by forbidding natural gas supply to the company’s TermoAndes-Interandes project and exports to Chile.
