Rogério Patrício Chagas do Nascimento was born in Lagarto City, Sergipe State, Brazil. He earned a PhD in Informatics Engineering from Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal, 2004), MSc in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (Brazil, 1999) and BSc in Computing Science from the UFS - Universidade Federal de Sergipe (Brazil, 1997). His previous collaboration was in the Instituto de Robótica at Universitat de València (Spain, 2012 and 2005) as Invited Professor and Researcher; Invited Assistant Professor at Universidade do Algarve (Portugal, 2005-2007); Visiting Professor at Universidade Federal do Amazonas (Brazil, 2010-2013); Post-Graduation Coordinator in Computing Science (Brazil, 2014-2016) and Rector's Advisor on ICT and Smart Cities (Brazil, 2016-2020) at UFS.br. Currently, he is Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Computing Department and Software Engineering Research Group Leader at UFS.br (Brazil). He is a Founder member, Former Scientific Director, and the current President at EATIS.org - Euro-American Association on Telematics and Information Systems. Has experience in the area of Computer Science with emphasis on Software Engineering and Information Systems. He lived in Brazil, Portugal and Spain. In 2007, he did the famous medieval pilgrimage to the shrine of Saint James The Great, called Way of St. James, wandering by 800 km from the French Pyrenees to the Cape Finisterre, in the Death Coast, Spain.Specialties: Smart Cities, ICT Strategic Planning, e|m-Health, e|m-Governance, Workflow Systems, Ubiquitous Learning and Computing, Software Engineering, and Information Systems.
