As NLeSC is among other matters concerned with co-ordinating escience related activities in the Netherlands, we actively work on strengthening the position of escience research in the Netherlands through partnerships and by joining forces multi-laterally or at a national level. So we try to form alliances and platforms, such as the Alliance for Software Sustainability and ePLAN, the eScience Platform in the Netherlands, where all escience and data science centers have joined under one umbrella and the Special Interest Group for Visualisation. My role is primarily to conceive and organize such alliances and (co-)lead them and help to make them work effectively.

The Netherlands eScience Center engages in and enables cross disciplinary research through providing expertise in eScience and ICT methodologies and providing services to researchers in the public and private sector. It helps improve the optimal use of national and international e-infrastructures in daily research.
