Operating for over 40 years, SNCS is Nevada and Sierra counties' local Resource and Referral center. SNCS is a contractor that provides a child care subsidy service through the California Department of Social Services. SNCS also provides resources for families for any number of needs. They host playgroups and child development workshops in the Learning Center, a library of developmentally appropriate toys and games that families can check out and take home. Enroll families on childcare subsidy programs and maintain family data files. Explain details of eligibility and need for services to parents in various levels of detail as needed. Piloted and educated team on use of Family Portal digital document submission platform.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of California Department of Education Title V policies regarding the implementation of California's Alternative Payment Program (CAPP) and other childcare subsidy contracts. Review and authorize billed payments for child care providers. Provide technical assistance on both agency payment policies and state-level payment policies. Assist parents and providers by providing technical assistance on a variety of child development and childcare issues. Provide child care and other referrals to parents, make informed choices about childcare, and offer informational referrals to caregivers. Pilot methods and practices in the implementation of the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program for Foster Children.
