As a Boardroom Apprentice at the Department for Education I participated in an intensive board learning, development and placement programme, gaining hands-on experience of working with senior leaders in a boardroom setting.

As a Senior Policy Officer I provided policy, strategic, and project delivery advice for projects pursuing the UK’s international objectives. I worked across policy areas, enhanced my knowledge of international affairs, development, defence and security, as well as specialising in economics and climate change. I identified and developed new partnerships and networks to provide policy and strategic direction for the UK Foreign for Commonwealth Office. I developed exceptional hard skills including leadership, communication and time management, delivering projects for Wilton Park and the HMG including in-country in Asia, Central America, the Middle East, and Europe.

As a Visitng Research Fellow I worked as part of a team to collect data pertaining to the trade of environmental technologies within East Africa. This ACTS project was part of A wide UNDP investigaiton into the trade of environmental technologies across the African Continent. My role within the team was a to provide statistical analysis of trade data that underpinned the study. This included generating regression models for intra-Adfrican trade that accounted for reductions of barriers to trade, such as membership of regional bodies (e.g. the EAC, SADC and COMESA). Additionally I provided political analysis of the energy and industrial policies of Kenya, performing an in depth study of policy changes during the recent constitutiaonl crisis. The final report was submitted to ACTS for publication in 2019.
