With over 8 years of work experience, I am a passionate and dedicated special education teacher who strives to provide inclusive and engaging learning opportunities for students with diverse needs and abilities. I have a master's degree in inclusive secondary education with a focus on social studies, and I am dual certified in social studies and special education for grades 7-12. I currently work at the high school level, where I share the mission and vision of creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all learners.As a special education teacher, I collaborate with my co-teacher to deliver social studies instruction for grade 12 US Economics, using differentiated strategies, scaffolding, and accommodations to meet the individual needs and goals of each student. I also maintain, enforce, and create individualized education plans (IEPs) for my caseload of students, ensuring that they receive appropriate services and supports. Additionally, I provide one-on-one instruction, feedback, and guidance to students who struggle with academic, behavioral, or social challenges. Some of the skills that I use and develop in my role are special education law, one-on-one instruction, and differentiated instruction.
