In addition to managing my team, I act as a subject matter expert for 409A failures and other nonqualified plan consulting engagements. Finally, I am a key member of the project team responsible for transitioning Vanguard's nonqualified deferred compensation record keeping business to Newport Group, a third party vendor. My duties and responsibilities include hiring new employees, providing guidance, training, and motivation as necessary to develop staff by providing feedback in real time setting, monthly one on one meetings, midyear and yearend reviews. Provide performance management as well as any disciplinary actions in accordance to Vanguard's Human Resource policies. Provide merit and bonus recommendation based on employee performance. Drive productivity and increase efficiency by reducing redundant and inefficient workflows. I reorganized enrollment window project timeline to allow for smoother distribution of annual work and strengthen relationship with key internal partners. I work closely within the Nonqualified Plan Service department management team to develop staffing and operational plans as it relates to current state as well as future state where the business has transitioned to the new third party vendor. Future state planning includes staff drawdown and placement as well as termination of daily operations. Provide consultative support to external and internal clients regarding 409A corrections, including drafting of corrective procedures, settlement letters and execution of corrections. Build strong internal relationships needed to support transition project. Aligned with key business areas to ensure successful transition to Newport Group.
