About Patrick Atkinson

I graduated with a degree in Science, majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology, with honours in Otolaryngology from the University of Melbourne in 2007. Two years were then spent at the University of Iowa as a research assistant prior to moving back to Australia to complete my PhD at the Bionics Institute and the University of Melbourne. My specific research interests include the use of novel techniques to promote neural survival and the regeneration of sensory cells within the nervous system. I am also interested in the study of signaling pathways critical to development and regeneration in the nervous system.
