I was Associate Dean for Teaching & Learning at Manchester during the merger (National Teaching Fellowship in 2005), and received the Green Gown Leadership Award in 2014 for my work on sustainability. My DVC/Provost roles gave me responsibility for the academic delivery through the 7 Schools at London South Bank University, and the associated delegated budget of ca £125m.

Professor Of ChemistryHeriot-Watt University Jan 1993 - Sep 2000I was Head of the Department from 1994-1997, during which time we revamped all of the undergraduate programmes, and jumped two grades in the Research Assessment Exercise. I was also a very active researcher, winning the AstraZeneca prize for my work on polycyclic peptides, as well as working on organic synthesis and drug delivery.
