Patrick Banes is currently the Northeast Technical Sales Manager for Astro Pak Corporation where he is responsible for sales and market development. He works with a number of industries including biotech, pharmaceutical, personal care products, aerospace & defense, and food & beverage. Prior to joining Astro Pak, Patrick was the Vice President of Business Development for Oakley Specialized Services, Inc. During his 30 years of experience, Patrick has made numerous presentations on the subjects of passivation of austenitic stainless steel and rouge for the AICHE, ASME BPE, ASTM, IIR, IQPC, ISPE, PDA, Fortune 500 companies and other technical educational organizations. His technical papers on passivation and rouge have been published in Microcontamination, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Ultrapure Water magazines. Patrick is an active member of the ASME BPE and is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Surface Finish Subcommittee. He is also a member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE), North Jersey Chapter and a contributor to the current ISPE Water and Steam Baseline Guide. Patrick holds a B.A. in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire. He has also completed inorganic chemistry studies at Rutgers University.
